Fringe of Colour Films Finds a New Home
After two amazing years running Fringe of Colour Films as a virtual arts festival, we could not be more excited to re-launch as fully hybrid. While our Online audiences will be able to join us right here on our website from anywhere in the world, In-Person audiences are welcome to enter the festival through the bright, capacious doors of one of Edinburgh’s most historic art spaces – the one and only Summerhall!
Fringe of Colour Films 2023 - We’re back!
After taking an intermission through 2022, we are delighted to announce that Fringe of Colour is back for 2023 – and so is our arts festival, Fringe of Colour Films! 2022 gave us the time and space we needed to think about what creatives could use in this uncertain but inspiration-filled climate and what we as a team could deliver.
Fringe of Colour is taking an intermission
We will be back when we are rested, when we have had time to consider the direction of the work, when we have given ourselves time to work on and finish other projects, and when we have reacquainted ourselves with a summer uncharacterised by intensive labour. We want to see the sunshine!
We have a podcast!
Join us on Tuesday 15th June for the release of the first episode from our first ever podcast, Before the Applause, in which we discuss some of the films commissioned and produced by Fringe of Colour last year. In the podcast, we delve into the creators’ intentions, creative processes and what it meant to be a part of our festival. We spit some truths about the arts and entertainment industries, and we refuse to take ourselves too seriously while we do it.
Fringe of Colour Films 2021 - Our Statement
Fringe of Colour Films returns this year for its second online arts festival, exploring what it’s like to be a performance artist making and creating work in the digital age. With restrictions still in place on our freedom of movement and a pandemic still very present in our physical lives, Fringe of Colour Films invites Black artists and Artists of Colour to explore their practice through film.
New Creative Director Announced
The team at Fringe of Colour are extremely excited to announce that Briana Pegado will be joining us as our new Creative Director, taking up the role from February 2021 and working on this year’s iteration of the Fringe of Colour Films online arts festival.
